School Board Goals

 
Our Vision- The Converse County School District #1 community will ensure a high quality education and inspire all students to become life-long learners by providing a safe, supportive learning environment.

 

#1 Goal: To Increase Student Achievement

  1. In reading.
  2. In writing (language usage)
  3. In math  80% of all students at or above 61st percentile in reading measured by spring MAP
  • 80% of all students meeting growth expectations in reading measured by spring to spring MAP scores
  • 80% of all student at or above 61st percentile in language usage measured by spring MAP
  • 80% of all students meeting growth expectations in language usage measured by spring to spring MAP scores
  • 80% of all students at or above 61st percentile in math measured by spring MAP
  • 80% of all students meeting growth expectations in math measured by spring to spring MAP scores
  • Douglas High School will score above the state average composite score on the ACT
  • Douglas High School will be above the state average for percentage of students ready for college work in the four core areas (English composition, College Algebra, College Social Studies, College Science)

#2 Goal: To Recruit, Train, and Retain Excellent Staff

  • Survey results for AdvancED standard indicator 3.7 regarding mentoring, coaching, and induction programs will be no less than 4 on every measure by 2018.
  • Retention rate of staff members will be 90% or higher from year to year.
